Cupcake Jemma's Burger Cupcakes

I love burgers. I also love cake (who doesn't?) so to feast my eyes (and face) on a fresh batch of lovingly made burger cupcakes is always a pleasure, never a chore. But how do you make 'em? Here's the wonderful Cupcake Jemma of Crumbs & Doilies fame showing you how to build the ultimate burger cupcake in a brand new film posted on her very own YouTube channel…

Soho Stand Off #2: Tacos vs Sliders

Breddos, street food purveyors of tacos (and the dudes that currently serve sliders at Soho's Slider Bar) have opted not to fight slider with slider in an upcoming Soho Stand Off showdown with Bleecker St. Burger – but rather to pit two of their most popular tacos against two sliders cooked up by London's most awesomely reputed burger van…

Burgerac's Bangin' Blues on MEATtransMISSION

I've been quiet of late, I know. It's not that I haven't been eating burgers - I have - it's just that I've encountered nothing special enough (or awful enough) to inspire me to actually write about it. Just a lot of average burgers. Disappointing. HOWEVER, one place I've been getting consistently great grub is at MEATmission, where I've been a couple of times already this year – not just to stuff my face with Dead Hippies, Monkey Fingers etc but also to record a radio show…

Lazy Oaf The Works jacket

A coat featured on Burgerac? WTF? Ah, but this is no ordinary coat. No siree, it's Lazy Oaf's fully reversible The Works jacket from its current A/W 2013 collection. While the outer is a rather conservative dark blue (but with bright yellow poppers), just wait until you see the reverse option…

Little Social Aged Scottish Beef Burger

£15 for a top notch bacon cheeseburger and a silver bucket of French fries in a cosy bistro a mere hop, skip and a jump from Oxford Street.

Having seen that Daniel Young of Young & Foodish / Burger Monday had put the Little Social's burger at his coveted number one spot in his current Top Ten London Burgers list, I was keen to check it out for myself. And having been ill / housebound for almost three weeks I really felt like I needed a mega posh burger to get me back into the swing of things...

PREVIEW: Byron's Mo 'Shroom special

£9.95 for a 6oz burger topped with Portobello mushroom, swiss cheese, crisp streaky bacon, shredded iceberg, red onion and cep aioli.

It would seem that Fred Smith is hitting his stride since Byron cannily brought him on board as its head of food development last year. The "posh" burger chain's current monthly special, Le Smokey, (devised by Smith) is officially its most popular off-menu option ever – and Smith's forthcoming Mo 'Shroom burger (which I've previewed) is nothing short of a masterpiece…

Is Burger King really now Fries King?

A few days ago, global burger giant Burger King announced that it had changed its name to Fries King "for a limited time" as a PR stunt to promote its new crinkle cut "Satisfries". While it certainly seems to have caused a stir on various social media sites, I can't help wonder if the campaign doesn't represent a terrible error of judgement by all involved...
