Lucky Seven Diner Cheeseburger

At £6.95, not only is this great value for a tasty burger, but you get to eat it in arguably the most authentic American diner in London.

The enigmatic Cheeseblogger recently put Lucky Seven Diner's Cheeseburger through its paces. Read on, dear reader, read on...

#MEATEASY Bacon Burger with Cheese

£7.00 The burger's fantastic. It's the hours of waiting, the stupid numbered-peg ordering system and the no-fries-left that sucks.

Last Friday evening, myself and fellow Burgerac blogger, Pete, joined hoards of a relatively new breed of Londoner - the burger tourist - and headed to #MEATEASY in New Cross to sample what could be described as London's current "it" burger...

Burger Beer!

I love burgers, make no mistake. I also, would-you-believe-it, absolutely love beer. So imagine my joy on seeing these images of old cans of Burger beer dating from the 1940s...

Cheeseburger love: Meat & Cheese by Duotard

If the above video isn't embedded properly, check it out here.

Thank you (I think!) to my friend Becky Mason for pointing me in the direction of this have-to-see-it-to-believe-it homage to the humble cheeseburger. Congratulations to Mike and Jen (aka Duotard) and to The Selby for capturing the magic on film.

Haché Lamb Moroccan burger

£9.95. A tasty enough lamb burger, but when you could rustle up something similar at home for half the cost, what's the point?

"Best burger restaurant in London, Time Out" - boasts an A-board outside Haché's Camden restaurant. I'd been keen to visit one of Haché's two London branches on account of this impressive accolade and also because Haché describe themselves as "burger connoisseurs". If you Google "best burgers London" Haché have ensured they pop up near the top of the list of found sites. So, they talk the talk - but can they walk the walk?

Stephanie Anderson's teeny tiny paper burgers

These have appeared on the blogosphere before, but I've only just seen them and I love 'em and wanted to showcase them here. They're tiny paper burgers made by artist Stephanie Anderson who sells them as zines. Each 'page' is an ingredient and is no larger than a 10 pence coin. There are a few different burgers in the collection, each in an edition of 20, so here they are...

M&S Gourmet Cheese & Bacon Burger

£3.95 Not just any burger, this is an M&S Gourmet Cheese & Bacon burger from the Food On The Go counter in the Oxford Street branch...

As well as sampling burgers in restaurants and diners, here at Burgerac we also want to uncover unusual, secret places in our locale that burger-loving ladies and gents can seek out and enjoy a great burger. Hence some recent "research" undertaken in the perhaps unlikely venue of the Marks & Spencer store near my place of work...

HIX Ground Rib Steak Burger

At £15.25, it's not the cheapest burger in town. But it's very, very tasty.

New Year's resolution No.1: Eat more burgers

It's probably a bad idea, but I have decided that my top priority in 2011 is to eat more burgers. And let me assure you that this slightly unusual resolution is not (entirely) motivated by greed and selfish burger lust. No, dear readers, I have actually persuaded myself that I'm doing this in the public interest...

I have, in fact, banded together with a small group of like-minded peeps and resolved to sample, selflessly, the delights (and doubtless horrors) of London's many burger vendors.

Good or bad, big or small, well-reputed or otherwise – no burger can escape our discerning palettes as we embark on a voyage of discovery, dedicated to our oh-so-noble cause: bringing you up-to-date, unbiased reviews of the burgers of London and beyond!
