Vote for your favourite London burger! The votes will be added up and a winner will be announced at the end of the week!
It's come to this burger detective's attention that this week (June 18th-24th) is British Burger Week – as launched by giant food company 3663 in partnership with another giant food company, Heinz, in response to a Menurama report that last year's most popular pub dish was, in fact, the mighty burger.
Rather delightfully, the two companies have knocked heads with Tim Anderson, last year's MasterChef winner, to create a series of burger recipes which can be viewed here. Although, perhaps the best part of this recipe list is the fact that Heinz's burger recipe contributor is called Andy Bacon. Brilliant!
While a list of burger recipes is always worth a squiz, the two companies have also launched a competition to find Britain's Favourite Burger 2012. But as far as I can tell, the 12 burgers that the public are allowed to vote for are completely unknown to me. I'd imagine that fellow Londoners will look at the Facebook page of BFB 2012 and feel a similar sense of WTF: www.facebook.com/BritainsFavouriteBurger
SO, I thought I'd start a survey of my own to find out what London's Favourite Burger 2012 is as voted for by Londoners who know (and love) their burgers. To register your 'vote', either comment on this blog post with the name of the burger and the name of the vendor that serves it OR you can tweet your nomination using #LondonsBestBurger and #BritishBurgerWeek.
I'll be totting up the results of this survey at the end of the week so GET VOTING FOLKS!!

Lucky Chip's Kevin Bacon.
The Honest Burger at Brixton's Honest Burger! So hungry right now...
