In order to celebrate the UK's buzzing and burgeoning burger culture, Mr Hyde (the daily email newsletter from the same folks that create Shortlist magazine) has declared that the 27th August is National Burger Day here in the UK...
A £10 ticket not only gains you entry to the event but gets you a pint of Meantime 'brewery fresh' beer, a Jameson Cheeseburger Pickleback plus a soon-to-be-legendary Chilliback. Once suitably oiled up, you can, appetite permitting, check out the fare from the following vendors: Byron, Bleecker St Burger, Dirty Burger, Disco Bistro, Honest, MEATliquor, Mother Flipper and Slider Bar.
The event may also feature ice cream burgers by Sorbitium, burger macaroons by The Crumbery, and possibly a performance of the Meat & Cheese dance routine by Duotard, who long-time Burgerac readers may remember from a frankly unforgettable post back in January 2011 (check it out here).
Obviously, I like to celebrate burgers a lot more than once a year - but rest assured I won't miss this chance to hang out with like-minded folk who want to bask in the reflected glory of some of the capital's finest burger vendors. See you there!
